Marble Birthday Cake
I have been swamped at work lately so I haven’t had much time to experiment or try anything new and exciting. Which is a bummer. However, new and exciting isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be. Sometimes you want classic and comforting. If that’s the case then this Marble Birthday Cake is just the ticket.
I was never much of a marble cake fan before. I just didn’t really see the need for vanilla and chocolate cake together. Why wouldn’t you just eat chocolate cake? Clearly that’s the better option. I’ve baked a few recently though and my opinions have swayed slightly. I mean, I would still take chocolate over anything else any day of the week. But now, marble cake has it’s own place in my heart stomach. I paired this Marble Cake with a Milk Chocolate Frosting. Milk chocolate is also a little outside my comfort zone since I’m more of a dark chocolate girl. This frosting is so delicious and such a breeze to make that it will certainly be on rotation from here on out.
I mixed up my usual vanilla buttercream and then added in some melted Hershey’s chocolate bars. And that’s it. I told you it was a breeze. Of course, I finished this cake off with some sprinkles because you simply cannot have a cake without some sprinkles.
The cake is light and airy and the frosting has just right amount of milk chocolate taste. Not too overpowering. Even me, a dark chocolate lover, really loved this frosting. I’m also pretty happy with how the pictures turned out! And now I must go back to my regularly scheduled programming. Work, work, work, work, work… Enjoy your week!
